Do these sweaters have that "holiday look"?
Got them as a gift, and considering exchanging, but would be nice for the gifter to see them on the kids, as long as they don't look to much like x-mas....

Why would you think it is xmassy? Argyle = xmas?

They are not even red-and-green.

They would only look xmassy if your kids wore them with one of those stupid red felt elf hats and tied jingle bells to their shoes.

Thanks for you feedback!
It's not the argyle, more that bright red color - wasn't sure if it has strong associations (honestly, I'm not crazy about the sweaters, but I think I'd better play safe and hold onto them to avoid gifter feeling bad).

Blue and red argyle? Surely you jest? It is the red plus green combo that shouts Xmas. Otherwise, red is just another color of the rainbow, unless accompanied by elf hats, evergreen trees, and holly berries (not to be confused with Halle Berrie).

Slightly OT, PSA: Winter is a season. In northern latitudes, the season often features precipitation in the form of snow. neither snow-covered landscapes nor stylized snowflakes have any religious significance. pagan, christian or otherwise. If I want to wear a sweater or decorate my house with a painting depicting a snow-covered field, I will stoutly maintain my right to do so. Not that I will, neither sweaters nor landscapes being my thing, but in principle. I will not bow to the whims of those who invent idolatrous connections where none exist. No offense, OP.

You sure this is not just an excuse because you dislike argyle? Many people do.

If anything, the sweaters look more like spring fashion, what with the red stripes conjuring up a vaguely nautical feeling.

I like them. Red is only holiday when mixed with green or has a holiday design. I actually love when things have a touch of red.

I actually like argyle - but I don't have a bunch of boys so I didn't get a chance to get tired of it yet.
