Whoohoo! Goodrms started an ongoing story a la inshidduchim.com!
I LOOOOOOOVE that story. Dina/Donny - so much drama! Highly recommended.
As on that sight, I started this section so that we can talk about it without PMing.
Let's go, writers!!!!

I love reading and writing, so this sounds great, but why did the story have to start off on such a depressing note??

I just thought if we had a clear plot in the beginning it would help the story flow despite different writers. But if you would like me to change anything I'd be happy to!

I think you need drama... what kind of positive drama is there?
But if you don't like it, change it! That's the beauty of the ongoing story!

I hope this won't offend anyone, but would it be possible to proofread for grammar before submitting? I find it difficult to "get into" stories that have egregious errors like "she would have went" or that change tenses three times in two sentences.

I deleted my post so it shouldn't be such a negative story.
I hope others will continue... I really do think it's such a great idea.

I think part of the reason the Dina/Donny story on inshidduchim is so successful is because all of the writers truly feel and experience what Dina is going through. They add a personal touch by putting in their true feelings, frustrations, and pent-up emotions. The beauty of the story is that each person has a different style - some build up the characters, some get right to the action, etc. You don't get tired of reading the same style of writing with the same boring cliche's.
I think the way to make this story a success is if every person adds something from their own life experience - a story, a way of dialogue, true feelings or thoughts, etc. Each person can bring their own style and creativity.
I am looking forward!

I think another reason that story on inshidduchim.com is still going on is because they have a lot more time to write.
I need a good hour to sit and write a good paragraph, and that's not time I have available right now.
ETA: I just saw how you changed the story, and I'm going to give it a shot because I'm relatively newlywed and the change you made speaks to me. I really have to go make Shabbos, but my writer's urge is kicking in, so too bad
I'm so insecure about my writing, so it's a good thing no one knows me here...

mandr, thanks for continuing.
just ooc, where are you planning on going with your chapter? I had mentioned the chosson's name as Moshe... so does ariella marry lazer, or break it off and marry moshe? or is his name moshe lazer? I don't mind to change it to lazer, but we have to be consistent with the names for this to work

can't think of where to lead it...
anyone have any ideas for a story line? don't want it to be too boring or cliché or cheesy.

Can we insert a link to the story in this thread, preferably in one of the first posts (I.e. can a non-amother edit her post to include a link?) Because for some reason I KEEP seeing this thread in the top new posts but never saw the original.
