we cut out the bedtime story, since he is a reader now, and we talk about his day while we snuggle in bed. I do this for my 6 and 8 yr old.

Nothing major.

Bathroom
Shower/Bath every other night
Brush teeth
Pajamas
Good night!

No talking about day or bedtime stories. I talk about the day with them all evening after they come home, and I read stories whenever, no specific time of day.

Shower, get into pajamas, brush teeth, sing Shema and Hamal'ach Ha'go'el, kiss goodnight.

Now how to get child to STAY in bed is a whole 'nother story.

LOL ha! Exactly. I wish my nighttime routine ended with putting the kids to bed. After bedtime, it's a battle to keep them resting quietly in bed.

Take a shower and get into bed. Sometimes they read in bed or listen to a cd if its before 8.

The end.

what I do is if they come out they lose the bedtime story the next night. come out again and they put themselves to bed the next night. usually its one loooong evening of begging and whining and then they stay in bed. until they dont Wink
