I just got a part time job in a public h.s. which is a pretty rough crowd. I need to maintain a professional image but don't want to always wear a full shaitel. For alternative I'm thinking of a fall or a pony shaitel. Which will be most practical and which tends to be less expensive and lower maintenance. (ftr I'm still in my 20s). Also any recommendations for a place that may have a good deal on one during the holiday season. I need to work on this tomorrow/thus week. Can be either Brooklyn or 5 towns.

I've never had a pony sheitel but loved my band fall for many years, for convenience and because it kept hair out of my face. It was also just straight, so I washed it myself. But, I do find it to be a younger look. If you're in your 20's, you might want to see if it would make you look too close to your students' ages. I know that pony sheitels can also be very versatile- I have friends who wear them without the ponies too (they're just thinner, which works for a lot of people).
