Can you wear ankle boots with a skirt?
I know they look gret with pants but is it a fashion no-no to wear with a skirt?

A couple of examples below:

Me either!
I saw some today for about 60 bucks but was not not sure if they go with a skirt. They were a little taller than the ankle boot.

Either go very low -- ankle or just a smidge above -- or knee length, and it will look fine. Mid-calf, or just higher than ankle, no go.

ETA -- unless its a cowboy boot.

I do like the look. I think it helps if you have long legs (I don't) but I still wear ankle boots. My sister says she doesn't like the look because it looks like Peter Pan. Oh well.

Kind of a choppy leg line there. You might look at a knee high boot in black suede with a pancake heel if there are any.

I agree - either really low or knee length.

Why do they make these ankle boots only with heels? I am not a big heel person but I still love the look, I think it looks very cool!

Unless you're at heats five ten it will make your legs look very stumpy. Sorry.

I like ankle boots with ankle length skirts!
If you wear them with a knee length a line skirt I think it might look like you are going square dancing.( at least on my body type!)

Um beg to differ.
I am 5"6/7 and I have long legs which (if I can say so myself) look awesome in heels.
I happen to hate flat ankle boots or stumpy heel kind and some just look wrong but if you can find a nice pair with a thin heel or wedge they can look amazing with any skirt or pants.

ps: I personally also don't like the look of long/ankle length skirts with heels.

in my personal opinion ankle boots do not look good with skirts. Knee high boots (or just boots slightly higher) look much nicer. ankle boots look nice with jeans, but not skirts. This is my opinion only!!

What you can do to lengthen the line of your leg is wear stockings to match the color of the boots - black with black, brown with brown, etc. It's when you have the contrasting colors that it cuts you off and makes you look stumpy. Color continuity lengthens in general.

Listen, I am NO Fashionista but ALL the magazines are showing ANKLE BOOTIES with short skirts.

Generally the women are wearing booties with a heel and some tights.

Frankly you should wear what makes YOU happy and NOT let anyone dictate what you should wear.
