We made a custom photo mug, but not with pictures. It had words and phrases that describe DH, things he likes, or expressions he uses. He loves it so much we had to make one for FIL's bday too

Just wanted to say you should be really proud of your kids, I think that is so sweet.
It would be very helpful to know what he enjoys doing. Learning? Sports? Tech stuff?

I'd be inclined to tell the kids to save their money and have them all bake and decorate a cake or help out cooking his favorite meal, but then again I'm pretty frugal and make a point of teaching my kids the value of saving money.

That said, I totally agree with above poster. You should be really proud of them. I tear up when one of my kids comes running in with a fistful of cash (typically no more than $7-$10) that they've saved up and say they are giving it to DH and I to buy us a new car or airline tickets for the whole family to visit Israel. It's fantastic to see kids being generous.

These days you can get for cheap a photobook on shutterfly or the like. If he would appreciate that let them put something together personal. Can be pictures or letters and drawings etc
