My DD is 12 and loves to watch tv shows on youtube. She seees to love all these stupid shows with cartoons. I would love to recommend her something more educational to watch. She has A LOT of free time and probably watches too much. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Slightly off- topic:
it is very important if your kid is watching Youtube to have a filter which also blocks inappropriate videos and sets time limits.
The most popular informative videos recently here have been rainbow loom how-tos!

Another vote for national geographic. I love their videos.
There are all kinds of other documentaries on youtube as well.
Get her to start watching the news. It's the prefect age to start keeping up and caring about current events and national and world news.

There are lots of episodes of Bill Nye the Science Guy on youtube -- that's still one of my favorite shows.

I love the cosby show series. They ran for 8 season in the 80's/90's. They are clean and have a lot of values..I would suggest watching a few before letting her see it.

Bill Nye was awesome.
Would your DD actually be willing to watch anything "more educational?" Or is she really trying to avoid that when she's out of school, and just wants to relax her brain?
