He tells me he is still at work when he is on his way home. He will arrive an hour before I expect him. I don't have his food ready for him. He says he doesn't want me talking to him on the way so he can make his calls and get through traffic.

Ya, I think so and I would be annoyed. Why can't he just ask you not to call???? Do you usually "not listen?"

I don't call him at work. Sometimes I have urgent things to tell him, and I wait for him to leave. Once he told me he doesn't like to talk in traffic I wait for him to come home. His commute can be 2 hours each way. It would be nice to be able to resolve some things on the way.
