Ideas for 70th bday

We are very close with one of our uncles/ almost like a parent/ grandparent for the kids relationship. He does not have any children of his own and is turning 70. I asked Aunt what he may like to celebrate, but she had no ideas as well. We were thinking of personalized cuffllinks, but aunt said he never wears cuff shirts( I thought maybe to smachot ect.) Aunt said write a poem, ok will do that, but want to do something more. He is a very sameach b'chelko kind of guy- not big on the technology stuff, no great restaurants here to give a gift certificate etc. doesn't need a new Kiddush cup or menorah. dh says to get him a new tallis, but my thought was if he wanted or felt he needed a new one he would get his own and decide what he likes. We thought about an atarah, but if for so many years he never had one then he probably doesn't want one- ideas anyone??????
