What is the standard or typical gift for chosson to give kallah in the yichud room? (And price range)
Yeshivish / balabatish families, working boy.
Thanks!

Cufflinks, I had them engraved. One with his initials and one with mine. From things remembered.

Your chosson gave you cufflinks? She asked for gifts from the chosson to the kallah.
In my circles it is pearls though I did not do so for my 2 youngest DILs as I knew they wouldn't appreciate them. I got them lovely diamond pieces (which they could exchange if desired).

I think the standard gift is pearls but a lot of girls don't really like pearls so I would ask the kallah if she would prefer a diamond necklace or earrings...

I got a necklace. I didn't get pearls because I didn't want since I already have.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
So I'm getting that it's still pearls if the girl likes that, and if she doesn't, it's a diamond necklace or diamond earrings.
I assume the price range should be $500-$1,000? But I don't want to seem "cheap", am I totally off?
Thanks again

Pearls is generally the option that comes out cheaper, before you offer the kallah which one she would like price it out.

Gift? I gave him a tallis, but I didn't get anything in the yichud room.
He did give me a ring at the chuppah.

"standard" gift is pearls.
My MIL gave me the choice of pearls or a diamond necklace, because she knew that some girls today (a few years ago BH) think pearls are outdated. I chose the pearls b/c they are a classic choice, and when else do you get pearls?
And yes, it is customary in yeshivish/balbatish circles to get a gift in the yichud room.

I got diamond earrings and I had gotten pearls at an earlier occasion during our engagement. I would have preferred the opposite in order to have my earrings for pictures.
