I have a contest for you.
I list what foods I have in my house, and you come up with suggestions on what to make, with only those foods (plus spices, oil, etc.)
tomato,
cucumber,
potatoes,
milk,
noodles,
chick peas (raw)
lentils
split peas
onion
garlic
texturized vegetable protein
eggs
tuna
The rules are: it has to be a whole meal including a starch, protein, and vegetable.
You have to answer in the next hour. (Preferably ASAP)

cook pasta. in a separate pan, fry some onions, garlic and some veg, whatever you want, tomato sauce or chopped tomatoes, olives go good as well. and spices. I like mine spicy - chilli, soy sauce, etc. when veg are soft, add tuna to warm. pour over pasta.
can make leafy salad to go with it.
(kinda makes the tuna stretch more, esp if hubby is hungry, he can fill up on pasta. goes well with rice instead of pasta also.)

Tomato/cucumber salad
Lentil/split pea soup/potato soup, flavored with onion and garlic
Tuna pad thai noodles: heat some oil, add some garlic, scrambled an egg or 2, add in cut up TVP just before the eggs are firmly set. Add cooked, drained noodles, tuna, and sauce (try ketchup, soy sauce, sugar and chili peppers).
Drink the milk.

We used to play a game like that, take 4 or 5 ingredients, and see what we could cook.
