What solids is he eating? I know the cereals constipate. Brown sugar water helps as does pear or prune juice.

Prunes. Not prune juice not prune babyfood. homemade strewed prunes that you puree.

Glycerin Suppositories can help in short term. They have some special for kids.
If this is a frequent issue I'd use mirilax. I used mirilax for a few kids. It's a powder you mix into they're drink once a day.

I would do prune juice mixed with water.
I know some ppl do karo syrup, but I'm not crazy about the idea of giving corn syrup to a baby. They'll have enough of that later on.
Make sure the baby is well hydrated.

If there is ever a time when your baby is screaming and in agony, put Vaseline on a thermometer and gently push it in...stuff will come out. Not a long term aolution, but a useful tip.

You don't necessarily need to puree the prunes- I did baby-led weaning with dd and she's been eating straight prunes (make absolute sure there are no pits!) since 6 or 7 months. I keep them in the fridge so they feel good on sore gums, too. Lately she's preferred them in small, bite-sized pieces- she eats as many as she feels she needs and I usually see results in her diaper by the next day.
Also, make sure baby is drinking enough water in this heat- especially if formula-fed!

My baby was constipated, it turned out to be a sensitivity to milk. I give my baby mirilax with his yogurts and it solved the problem.

Amother that doesn't give corn syrup, are you aware that most formulas have corn syrup as the first ingredient? What do you feed your baby? Do you strictly nurse them?

Soft pieces of fresh papaya do wonders. Also u can boil up the prunes and let him drink that water. Amazing too.
