If you hired someone to build and take down your succah, how much did it cost? How big and what type of succah was it? I just got an estimate recently and I think it sounded a bit high.

It varies by location; where are you located?

OP said she wants somebody to both build and take down, still waiting to hear where she's located.

Panels is very time consuming. It can take a while. Plus you have a big succah.... I'd estimate $400?

and as someone who is handy ... if someone asked me to build a succah ... I would think I need to purchase the wood & make panels in order for them to become a succah
if someones asks me to put up a succah that means it's all ready to put together

Last minute also costs more. Some of the companies have been putting up succahs for 2 or more months.

$400 sounds ridiculous to me.
My mom paid two teens $100 to put hers up. Medium/large size, made of panels. She'll probably pay another $100 to take down.

A Leiters panel sukkah can take a while. from experience.
Based on my husband's prices that he charges, I would say $200-$250 for putting up and probably an additional $50 if it needs to be taken down as well.
Note that a teenager doing it is not the same as a professional handyman who does this as a business/side job.

We paid $475 to put up a 10x12 panel sukkah. I have a feeling that was a very bad price.
