Especially on the window sills.
I fear they will proliferate if I don't get rid of them now.
Any tried and true method for eradicating them?
I prefer non-toxic methods.

Salt water is also a option, just make it very salty

It's toxic, but localized. Get Combat ant trays. They are small circles and the ants go in for a bite and take the poison back to their home and share it so it kills the colony. Gets rid of them in a couple of days if you put a couple along the paths where the ants walk.

Terro bait traps

They take a few weeks to work, but definitely help. I either buy at Home Depot or Amazon, about the same price.
Safer to use than other products because just made from Borax.

If you want non toxic and are ok with having powder around, use food grade diatomaceous earth.
