My kids sometimes bring home nosh. Would you take out something for yourself when they don't see if you know they don't know what they have and wouldn't know it's missing. I'm talking about really young kids.
Or would you make your kids share with other kids? I took some of my kids nosh today. I feel a little quilty. Is it wrong?

I wouldn't push my kids to share if a child doesn't want to. I share mine, so they naturally copy me. (Yes, I also get a Shabbos pekeleh).
If a kid doesn't know what's in the bag I'd feel comfortable taking something out. Maybe even two something's .

Yes, if they're really little and wouldn't know. Absolutely not if they are aware or would be upset.

We have a rule that if they're eating in front of others, the must share. The option of going to another room or outside is always there.
It's a little funny to me when DS5 complains about his lack of a treat when he has chalakas AND birthday parties in his class. Since it's the first year that they that they are sitting in desks and learning to read, they are being bribed into it = more candies.
Under three I give them a treat or two, after that, they know too much.

When my kids come home from school with a bag full of nosh I usually I let each choose ONE piece of nosh (or a large piece to share with the others) and put the rest away. I selectively give out nosh on Shabbos. Sometimes they come home with obscene amounts of sweets and MSG filled salty snacks... I don't understand why the teachers can't give a small toy or some stickers instead. In fact I end up giving my kids a lot of small toys and stickers to compensate for all the confiscated nosh. BH their teeth, overall health and behavior are better for it

Nope, I don't think its ok to take a treat that was given specifically to my child.
Once they start coming home with tons of junk, my plan is to pay them or give them prizes in exchange for the junk.

My son is really young and sometimes he brings home candy and stuff that stays in the cabinet for weeks before I eat it or throw it out. He doesn't like sweets too much. If it's something I know he'll enjoy, no I don't take it.

If they didn't finish it and left it overnight I might sneak something without asking even though I shouldn't.
