Combing combing combing. It's hard to get nits off fine hair, sometimes you just have to wait for them to hatch then catch the lice when they're still babies. I don't bother using any spray or cream anymore, just comb (with a VERY GOOD comb) every two or three days till they're totally clean. It's really the only foolproof way of getting rid of everything. We make it as fun as possible, I let the kids watch a special show or something to distract them.

Few points: first, to op, if the nits hold on to the hair, they are ALIVE!
Second, the niska is far from the best! It hurts to be combed with it, especially for babies! Don't do it. There are better ones out there.
And 3. The mayonnaise a poster mentioned is not good only because of the oil but also because of the vinegar. Lice don't like the smell.

Highest fat mayonnaise for at least 4hours. Cover with a shower cap.
In Israel, the Assy2000 is the best comb.
Comb out the mayo. After you wash it out, comb again.

They lay the eggs glued the the hair close to the scalp. They are black or brown. After they hatch you will see the nits at 1" or farther from the scalp.

Comb at least a few times a week. Make sure the teeth are pressing gently on the scalp since the little buggies like warmth.

If your baby is nursing, pull the nits out with your fingernails during a feed.

À friend of mine rewashes hair after combing, and leaves conditioner in 'round-the-clock' for at least a week.

In addition to your and DH hair, and linen /pillows, you need to check your sheitals too!

I use lavenday or tea tree oil as a preventative afterwards...
Hatzlochoh raboh!!!

Sheitels can be put in the freezer just like hair brushes, ponys etc. I don't recall how long they should freeze for. Maybe a couple days. Its way easier than a real head!!

Because people trust your advice so much that they’re certain you don’t have lice and they’re not afraid to hug you!
