I put on a pot of red cabbage - fried onions, added pieces of apples, vinegar and sugar.
I used to do this (though haven't for a while) and always came out delicious though this time it just doesn't taste right.
Any tips??

My mother does honey. Also add salt and pepper. It’s yum!

Just after I wrote the OP, I realized that I missed out salt.
Though it still seems to be missing something - maybe will try honey, that sounds a good idea.
Will pepper not clash with the rest of the flavor?
