Getting as a gift. 3 yr old is a girl, 5 year old is a boy. We have clicks, lego, duplo, doll house, kitchen set, puzzles. What's a good toy that can keep these 2 ages busy....thinking of the long yomim tovim days up ahead that will need to occupy them!

Wooden train set, all my kids love it. Or playmobil if they like pretend play and you don’t have a crawling baby to worry about the small pieces.

A big car mat with lots of cars-keeps my kids busy for hours.
If you don't have menchies, that's also a great option.
A kitchen center
Dishes/pretend food set.

I'd go for a pretend play set such as a kitchen, work bench, nursery, lemonde stand or hair and makeup salon.

My kids love the melisa and Doug pizza set as well as the ice cream set (think called ice cream counter) that with baker/chef dress up.
Dress ups- fireman, policeman, construction....

Increase what they have already. My girls had the Fisher Price doll house, and from time to time, I used to buy them a new accessory set. It would rejuvenate their interest in it. They used to play for hours, as we had so many accessories, so many options for their imaginations.

OP, for some reason, my little kids don't love playsticks. My older one is starting to be able to build more things. For the little ones it's harder to build.

3 and 5 are to young to build independently with playsticks. They will need your help to build anything more then a simple tower.

This costs under $10 but it can keep kids occupied for a really long time if you need to keep kids occupied.
Get a low, wide plastic container and put a 5 lb bag of rice in it. Easy to sweep up and limitless imaginative play. My kids love to pretend bake (use plastic cutlery, foil pans and foil muffin cups). I also put in mini tractors and dump trucks and they play with those. You can also hide stuff for them to find.
