Yom tov costs a lot more than regular. Even without the marrieds coming over.
Are you feeling pressured to host the marrieds even when you can't afford it?
It's very tough when the pressure is on us to host even if we don't know where we are taking the money to pay for it all. It also depends on how many couples with kids there are. It'll be different for everyone. The ones that still have a large family to cook for, are basically cooking the same foods, maybe just a bit more for the marrieds.
I'm with you though.

On the rare occasion that it's just the single/younger ones, I feel much less pressure and keep things very simple (&cheap!).
