I have a package of beef stew cubes that I would love to make in the crockpot, any ideas?

I bottle of dark beer, like Guinness, lots of fresh mushroom, and sliced onions.
Sear all the sides of the cubes in oil, and then add to the crock pot. Quickly sautee the onions in the same pan as the meat, and then put them in the pot. Put the mushrooms in the pot (whole if they are small, and quartered if they are large.)
While the pan is still hot, take some of the beer, and deglaze the pan, scraping up all of the tasty bits. Dump the deglaze into the pot, and use the rest of the beer to wash out the pan and into the pot.
Cook on high until the meat is tender, but it's better to cook on low for about 5 to 6 hours. You really want the beer and other flavors to blend and mellow.
