Any free decent program like word that I can download? I just need for basic typing with a few different fonts...

For basic typing definitely Google docs.
I've used Open Office when I needed more specific Word-like tools, but for most word processing Google docs is the easiest.

Internet based but there's a desktop app that can be used offline.

Open Office is a download, freestanding program. I used it a few years ago so I'm not sure what it's like now. At that time the interface and functioning was similar to an earlier version of Word.

Open Office and Libre Office can both be used without being connected to the internet after being installed on the computer.

Libre office is great. Also supports Hebrew pretty well.
