Bakery challa is commercial. Made with commercial ingredients & commercial supplies. The pans are reused over and over again.

The way it’s made and the extra ingredients makes it tAste commercial. Some bakeries do sell good “heimishe” challah.

Actually I like bakery challah; I just don’t have a neighborhood bakery any more. It’s supermarket challah that I don’t like.

I think bakery challah is fresher and sometimes better than homemade. Definitely fresher.

I've never tasted a bakery Challah that tastes better than a (good) homemade Challah.
Off course some homemade challos aren't very good and I'm biased that mine are delicious, but on the whole, a good Challah recipe trumps a bakery any day.

They add stabilizers. You can add it too.

Happy? |
Basically, dont assume that we are all in NY unless the poster specifically says. This post wasnt location based, it was general. So “I’m not in NY” would be bizarre. Like, why doesnt bakery challah taste as good as homemade and ps I’m not in NY”. Just trying to explain, no need to come across as you are with your “happy” at the end.

Perhaps if she lived in NY, she would find bakery challah even better than her homemade ones. My kids like the bakery challah better, even though I think I make great challah

Then you’re not going to the right bakeries! Ostrovitsky (especially their cinnamon challah), Breadsmith, schreibers vanilla challah, are unbeatable,

I’m from Los Angeles. Home made is always better. I tried all the bakeries. Idk why. My kids refuse to eat the bakery challa.
