I’ll be buying one shortly for my dd bas mitzvah. I heard that Canon makes good ones for a decent price for this age. I can let you know which model it is once I buy it.

You can buy a decent canon camera for about $100, they do have cheaper models but they may or may not be junk....

My 10 year old was very excited to get an instax camera. Like the old fashioned Polaroids. If the girl already has a smartphone or tablet she can take photos already. Film is quite expensive, around $1 a shot, although we managed to find some cheaper online.
