I'm looking for a restaurant (preferably a pizza store!) Near FAO Schwartz, also any other interesting stores/ things to do for 12 year old boy (not taking a friend so not things that are fun for one kid & one parent). I'd appreciate any ideas! TIA!

FAO Schwartz closed down afew years ago.
You can tour Rockefeller center and go Ice skating.

I heard that FAO Schwartz reopened in Rockefeller Plaza. Google corroborates this.

Milk and Honey is not too far from there. It’s a decent pizza store.

There is a Lego store a bit further downtown that has very cool stuff made from Lego.

Bumping this-
Op- did your 12 year old son enjoy the toy store? I want to take my son (Same age) but wondering if he is too old.
Has anyone else been to the new FAO SCHWARTZ? Looking for feedback ... want to make this into a trip for my kids 12 and younger.

We went. It’s really not like the old one. Whoever went was not impressed. I guess they had an image of an updated version opening there. I personally enjoyed it. So did my kids.

We went just 2 days ago with ages 8 and up. We had a great time. It's considerably smaller than the other one so it went very fast. It was also very empty so that helped. We made it exciting and it helps that with the younger ones, they get excited pretty easily with almost anything in N.Y. even the kosher supermarket  . It makes you appreciate things.
