I heard R Shmuel Kaminetzky (R"Y Philladelphia) and his Rebbitzen are very health conscious and have a diet they follow.

Hes 95 and as vibrant as a man much younger., bli ayin hara.

It's probably not a big secret.

Longevity often has to do with genes. Google "telemeres".

The "diet" is probably eating whole foods, in small meals, throughout the day.

Getting up and moving around helps keep the joints from getting stiff, keeps the heart strong, and keeps the metabolism working.

On the other hand, the oldest recorded person in modern history lived to be 121. She smoked and drank wine every day. George Burns lived to be 100, and he smoked 5 cigars a day.

My grandmother was a chain smoker, an alcoholic, had both breast and colon cancer, and heart disease. She died at 98, extremely coherent and still complaining about the food at her nursing home.

Go figure.

When it's time to go, it's time to go.

Eat healthy, and daven for a long life. That's the secret.

Hashem should protect them.

I hate that they've mislead so many people. I'm sure they meant well.

It's important to know where people stand before taking health advice from them. Very relevant.

My Shabbos reading material is NYT Bestsellers and top selling books on Diets (Fuhrman, Vij, Robbins, have been some of the recent ones).

Even the top rated diets, have a common thread.

No white sugar,
No white flour,
the more leafy greens, and brightly colored vegetables, the better.

But there are differences, no animal products, some animal products, focusing on certain vegetables, eating them raw or cooked, etc.

Its important to know that he is the most revered (by most) Rosh Yeshiva in America today, even if theres MAJOR disagreement about vaxing.

It's important to know that he's a big rosh yeshiva when it comes yeshiva issues.

Those who know the family and the RY well understand and still vax. People who comment from a distance and try to use Them as a example of why all shouldn’t vax are clueless. They are on a special medriga....

And its important to me to hear what a vibrant 95 y.o. R"Y eats.

I dont think its in bad taste to ask on Imamother, where someone may know.

Best idea I can give you.. find one of their grandchildren and ask them to describe their Grandparents...they are people that are living under a different reality then the rest of us. We should all be so zocheh!

Wow, I didn't know he was 95. Hashem should grant him and his Rebbitzen many more healthy years.
