My cleaning lady has been working for my mother for years and never took anything.
She told me that when she comes to my house and I'm not home, I should make sure to label the money I leave for her as "for Mary," since otherwise she won't take it.

My documents are in a drawer (no lock) and I don’t hide my jewelry. Over the course of 13 years, I’ve had 2 cleaning ladies steal from me. One stole my watch that my husband gave me when we got engaged, and some other stuff, so I had her arrested.
Even with that, I still don’t lock up my stuff. Thank god since then, I have not had anything stolen.

Ditto.
Although you can never know 100%, I only hire people with good references and I trust them. So far no issues. B”H.

Whose "they"?
