There are 9 families that have moved in as part of the "group" two families that are now currently under contract BH (also part of the "group") and 3-4 families that lived there prior to the "group" moving in.

What do you mean by “the group”? If a new family was interested in moving in, would they be part of “the group” as well? What type of hashkafa, values, etc. do the families have?
ETA: what schools do most people send to? How long is the commute?

To clarify: East Meadow is a very Jewish neighborhood. There have been some shomer shabbos families who have lived there for a long time (and have now joined our shul). A bunch of younger families have moved there in the last few years. (This new group was not a group before that moved together. They are just now being referred to by OP as a “group.”) So yes, any new family moving would be considered part of the “group.” Most of the new young families have moved from Queens and just kept their kids in the same Queens schools. However, there is also free busing to 5 towns schools.
Briefly: The new group of young families established a shul, eruv and installed a Rav and Rebitzen. We are a warm group of growth oriented families whose husbands have learned in Yeshiva for years and are now working as professionals or in Kiruv and Chinuch. The community has a small out of town community feel, but it’s in New York!
Come to the bbq to find out more details!
