My 8 year old had been peeing wherever and whenever.
I've found puddles next to the bed that I thought came from the Nagel vasser.
Or next to my large freezer and I started panicking that something was leaking from the appliance.
Child has no problem doing "business" in a public area (by the side of a building, in the bushes etc) rather than wait another 5 minutes to get to a bathroom.
When we are out for errands, every store becomes a pit stop.
Not sure if all these issues are related but none of my other kids where/are like this.
I'm beyond frustrated.

This is purely s behavioral issue. How's his behavior otherwise? At home and school? Find out what's been going on and what's the reason for his acting out like this.

Boy thing. Gross nonetheless.
Make him wipe up each time.
Repeat after Mommy “ I will only pee I’m the toilet”

Is it possible child could be constipated? Sometimes when that happens, the bowel can press on the bladder and they may not be able to wait that 5 extra min to go to the bathroom...speak to pediatrician. If this is the case, treating the constipation may resolve much of this and the behavioral stuff should follow (small things like charts/reward systems may be necessary, but first address any possible underlying medical issues).

Not to panic you, but this kind of behavior would not be unusual in a child who has been s*xually abused. (As a mandated reporter, I do yearly training in this.)
This sounds more than just behavioral or a kid losing control over his bladder. This sounds emotional.

Amother brunette, peeing on the floor or around the house on purpose has nothing to do with being constipated.

First, who said it’s “on purpose”.
Second, why not explore / rule out a possibility with a simple solution before shaming and blaming the child or jumping to s-xual molestation?
As someone with a medical background I can tell you that I’ve seen similar scenarios before and constipation was the culprit. Not saying that’s definitely the case here, but it’s worth exploring.

Any social issues? Lack of body awareness? My spectrum-y child would urinate anywhere because of lack of social norms

Amother brunette, if he'd be constipated he'd be having accidents in his pants. He pee's wherever he wants, not by accident.
Some kids "like" to pee in all sorts of places. Like they get a certain pleasure out of it.

I’m familiar with the constipation point, my daughter suffers from encopresis. Finding puddles near freezers and beds sounds like it’s on purpose and not a lose or bladder control.

Thanks for the responses.
DC definitely has some social awareness issues but I wasn't thinking it could be related.
Constipation doesn't seem to be an issue and we are very open with discussing "privacy and personal" topics.
There always seemed to be this thrill when DC was younger with peeing in strange places but it's getting out of hand.
If this is emotional, what kind of specialist do we need to see?

Ask your pediatrician for a referral.

You can speak to the pediatrician for referral (dodnt work for me because he brushed my concerns away until it got out of hand) you can call the board of ed for a referral for eval to see what they can offer you- no cost. Or you can go for your own private eval and pay out of pocket. This is good because you’ll know exactly whats wrong and which route to go. Also you may need a specific diagnoses for certain therapies- especially if you choise to do aba therapy. Or skip the eval and hire your own OT or floortime therapist to work with him privately. Different people- different opinions! Good luck
