I'd like to read an ongoing story that will enrich my kids' language etc. I grew up having the Little House books read at bedtime, but I haven't introduced many secular books yet and I don't necessarily want to have that be the bedtime story. What would be appropriate and enjoyable recommendations to read to boys through age 8?

You don't want secular or just the Christian undertones of little house?
