Op, there's a store in a basement, specifically for plus sizes. Location is 1575 49th st. But she has only daytime hours like from 10-2 or something and then some evening hours too. I know someone that just got real pretty clothing there. Good luck!!

Have had good luck with dress barn - they have online shopping and physical stores, just be aware that some locations only carry till size 16, others carry to size 24.
(If you are looking for long sleeves, you may need a shell for some of them)
