I put oil and salt with the eggs to make egg salad but never know how much to use, please don't tell me to taste it to see, can you tell me approximate amounts for x amount of eggs? Say 8 eggs?

For 8 extra large eggs, 2 tablespoons of oil is good. Put in 1/2 teaspoon table salt, mix well and taste.
