I feel like this is true about all jobs 9-5, if you want to be there for your kids or you can't afford help.

Investing, managing, or brokering?
Realtor is pretty competitive field if you don't have built up reputation, as is management (aside from being heavily male dominated due to nature of business). You would have to work for someone else, and they wouldn't be paying 90k unless you're mostly commission based and successful. Investing takes serious capital, aside from inherent risks and difficulty of locating cash flow positive opportunities in the tri state area.
