These bracelets are marked 14k, and unless the dealer tells you, I think you have no way of knowing that they have resin in them.

Buy a small scale and weigh it. Resin (plastic) is lighter than metal. But that won't tell you if another metal (alloy) was used underneath. In general, only buy from someone you trust. FYI: Costco is trustworthy.

There has to be a way to tell. Even the most reliable jewelers can be fooled if theres no way to test. How do jewelers buy from one another, if they buy large quantities and dont want to "fall in"? I read that some jewelers saw a bracelet (cut the links) and see.
