My nephew is getting married at the very end of March (shortly before Pesach) in the NY area. I have cute matching velour dresses for my girls that I would love for them to wear, but they're very wintry. Is it still ok for them to wear velour? These are the dresses:

March is a tricky month....
You're supposed to bring the season forward. So no super summery dresses, but also no wintery materials.
You can get away with it, though.

Definitely yes!
Nobody will even think or notice or comment on the fact that they are velour! They will just be 2 cute girls at the wedding!

Love the dresses, I'd do them. Especially since you have it already.

I'm worried they'll be cold in short sleeves?

Very cute dresses.
The end of March is barely spring. Temperatures are likely to be in the 40s. These dresses will be fine.
I probably wouldn’t buy them that time of year, as they wouldn’t be able to wear them long, and might outgrow them by the fall. But you own them. So enjoy.

Right up until the day before Pesach, velour is suitable.
(and then it's out even if its snowing outside.)

This sounds like an adaptation of the ourdated Easter rules.
People wear velvet in spring. You need to balance the heaviness. OP should do this with flesh colored tights instead of black, and maybe a white cardigan.

It's great. March is still green. St Patrick's day. Luck of the Irish and all. ;-)

I'm assuming they'll wear a cardigan or shell.

If you like them and your daughters like them what is the problem? Who cares what others think?
......unless you live in one of those hive mind communities were everyone magically switches from flesh to black tight & v.v. on the same day, in which case this is very important and will totally affect shidduchm!

Who is going to be looking at the chosson's little cousins so closely? No one cares.
They are cute dresses. Your kids will look cute. Most halls I know of are so cold that it doesn't matter if it's June, velour would be appropriate. Please put them in sleeves.
