I've had to cancel all of my jobs this week, and possibly next week as well. Now even my little bit of grocery money is not coming in. No idea how I'm going to pay utilities, either.

I am in a SERIOUSLY tight spot now.

I have no income.

I had a doctor's appointment with a specialist, because I need to appeal my Bituach Leumi benefit amount. That appointment got cancelled, and I have no idea when I'll be able to get back in. I also needed to go in and get a lot of blood tests, but because of my cough I can't get into the clinic.

I had an appointment that I waited THREE MONTHS for, to get in to the embassy to talk to the Social Security office. They cut off my benefits by accident last April, and I've been fighting them ever since to get reinstated.

I just found out today that they CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT! I have no idea how I am going to get my SSDI reinstated now. I can't even reapply without current medical documentation, and all of my doctor's appointments are being cancelled.

I could call SS, but I'm in Israel and I can't afford a phone service that calls internationally. I've tried asking people if anyone has unlimited calls to the US, but I can't find anyone with an Amatel account.

After this month, I will not have enough money to pay my rent.

HELP!!!

Do you have a mobile phone? We added 10₪ a month to get international calls. Pelephone and cellcom both do that, maybe other phone companies as well.

Did the embassy give you any idea of when they could put you back in? If they cancelled you because of the virus, can they "meet" with you over the phone?

Is there any nursing service in Israel (or even a doctor or nurse you know) who might be able to come to your house to do the bloodwork?

So sorry you are going through this :-(

Same thing with the doctors, everything right now is up in the air, and nobody is taking non-emergency appointments.

I appreciate every bit of the donations I've gotten. Even if you don't think it's very much, it's adding up. I also just checked my Israeli bank balance, and I only have 900 shekels in there. Rent is 2,850.

I will try to figure out Google voice, and see if it will let me call. Thanks for the tip.

Were you able to specifically reach the Social Security offices?

I booked that appointment 3 months in advance, because that was the first appointment they had open. I have no idea when they will ever start taking appointments again.

I can't do everything over the phone, because they want to see original paperwork from my doctors, not photocopies.*

They will not answer emails, and will not accept scanned PDF files.

It may not be a brick wall, but right now I'm not sure I have the strength to climb over it.
