Are the Shaitel machers in your area still doing wash and sets?

Yes, but not in person.
I dropped it off at her door, and when it was ready she put it on her door for me to pick up.

Not around here. In NJ hair salons are included in businesses in which it's impossible to maintain social distancing and so they have to close.

I dropped mine off last week on her porch, with money, and then picked up from her porch earlier this week. She was only doing wigs off the head, not in person. Plus I had to skip my haircut...so I’ll see how chopping off my pony by myself works out!

My friend suggested this method and it works like a charm: after you wash your hair, comb it with a middle part and put in a ponytail holder. Hold the ponytail with one hand, and with the other simply cut off as much as you want to.
Then take off the ponytail holder and comb your hair straight. Sometimes there are few places that have to be adjusted but on the whole it's the easiest method I know of for a do it yourself haircut.
