It was sell by yesterday and some the day before. Vegetable, potato, and yerushalmi kugels from local takeout. Got them for free.

Well then. My usual rule for home-made food is 3 days in the fridge. Is there any reason you might think that these kugels had extra preservatives added? Otherwise, I wouldn't consider them safe.

No.
Takeouts usually puts a one week date, from when they made it, on their kugels. They don't add in any preservatives, it is made same way as home just with bigger equipment.
