Ok looks like I have to explain it further
When our child comes home crying/complainig about something that happend in school, or a play date, shul etc how do we react?

I think it depends on the age of the child. My son is 13 and I'm trying to get him to work out problems on his own, but sometimes I still need to step in. When he was younger, I would get more involved.

Actually I thought of this question, when I realized that when I just give in to one of my twins kvetching, for a moments peace and quiet. Though it may seem nice even for them then, am I a true friend or foe

The awareness that you may be both helps to prevent the bad. I think its a brilliant Question!!! Should be repeated to yourself.... when you know... stuff happens.
