That’s what I’m asking
From the little research I ve found they started implementing restrictions at the end of December 2019
They enforced VERY strict boarder patrol early on.

They are an island nation and were able to isolate themselves from other countries quickly.
Israel also managed to do a great job bc they arent as landlocked (since there isnt taht much of back-and-forth with their arab neighbor countrieds) whereas landlocked european countries, and the big ol' USA, have way more people and transporation going around.

Many countries are almost recovered - even better than Israel!|
Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, New Zealand, Austria ....

The last two may do a travel treaty soon, and Israel, Cyprus, and Greece are in talks of one too.
A travel treaty where 2 or 3 or even more countries agree you can travel between them as their numbers are both very low and improving at a good rate.

These travel treaties would go in effect in a month or two assuming their numbers still improve.

Travel restrictions, case tracking, mass testing, immediate production of PPE, face masks - making sure everyone had access to face masks and requiring their use on public transportation.

Basically all of the things that have been working in every country with low numbers.

(6 deaths isn't unusually low, that's the same 1.3%-1.4% death rate seen in most countries. What they did very well was to control the spread.)

They started effective measures early.
That's key: early intervention.
No negating the problem, but tackling the problem

effective measures are: tracing and testing... which is possible as long as there are not many cases...
and social distancing to avoid community spread of the undiscovered cases.

Sweden gained a lot just by telling people to stay home if they have any symptoms, feel not well, etc... which, incidentally, also stopped the flu season immediatly...(they saw it on their flu records)

Closing off to the outside world is only effective in the very first phase, before there is community spread in the country...

Trump's travel bans would have been late anyway.

By the way: they found that there were cases in france as soon as december... and in california too...

They required everyone to wear masks right from the start. And they were super strict about everything.

U don’t disappoint. I was wondering how long it’d take u to start bashing Trump in your reply.

An island nation is what you make of it. The UK is also an island nation, and they have it fairly badly. Having the ability to easily close borders doesn't help unless you act on it.
