I’m looking for zoo or a farm with animals with driving distance from NY.
(Nowhere specific in NY, so we can start out in NY metro area or the Catskills.. were really willing to travel a few hours)

Also the safari in great adventures is open

Another vote for 6 Flags Safari in NJ. But you have to reserve a time slot beforehand, and weekend prime times can sell out well in advance, and will also be much more crowded than weekdays.

If you are looking for a petting zoo try googling u pick orchards. A lot of them have petting zoos that you can really get close to animals for low cost.

Another vote for family fun farm in monticello. It’s in Ny close by and not so far as going to Pennsylvania. call before going but I was there and they were open.
