Also find out if your in laws have neighbors who don’t take the boxes and don’t mind if you take theirs. I have plenty of neighbors who don’t bother with the hassle of picking up...
Just remember that at this point it’s only for children not enrolled in a day camp

Right. And if I felt entitled, I wouldn't have asked!

Now I feel bad.
Let's make OP an Ima box. I'll donate the milk.

I love this idea. Many ppl are happy to pass along milk, juice and other food to neighbors.

Our state is doing okay not amazing but not that bad either. We're still on the list because the list has 31 States on it! And that's that is why I keep wanting to be so careful about social distancing because we're not supposed to be around all you guys.

okay friends I have to go pack so I'm officially signing off of this thread and bye-bye!

OP, my neighbor just happened to mention to me that she has grandchildren here (OOT) from NY, she asked the school and was told they could get lunches while they are here, and the other way around also. So it's definitely worth asking!

OP here's what comes in the box:
Frozen fish sticks
Frozen mozarella sticks
Frozen pizza
Frozen blintzes (cheese and potato)
Frozen knishes
A frozen pan of baked ziti
A frozen potato kugel

When I say frozen I mean it's supposed to be frozen, by the time we get it it's often defrosted and we have to refreeze.

Then there's
Unpeeled cucumbers and cherry tomatoes
A box of cereal (cheerios, Rice Krispies, sometimes fruit loops which I hate, I really don't buy food coloring things but my kids love)
Just order the same from the grocery, bonus it'll probably be in better shape.
I'm NOT complaining! But honestly the only reason why I take the food is for financial reasons. There's nothing healthy about it.

From where do you get this box?

These are the guidelines - it looks like there are 2 programs, one is open to NJ residents only and one is open to anyone. The info about which sites are associated with which programs might be out of date, you should probably contact the school directly to find out.

Thanks for posting.
I was right about option 1, it's for students who attend Lakewood schools as well as their siblings.
Option 2 is presumably how the Jackson resident's neighbor's 3 year old was getting lunch and OP could get it for the same price.

Treffs delivers to a few neighborhoods. It's not like that every week, I was just giving examples. But it's mostly frozen food, cereal and some veggies and of course juice and milk.

Great news OP, but if this doesn’t work out, and you don’t want to go into stores, most groceries deliver. Some require orders to be made a few days before. And many offer online ordering.
