Every year I feel guilty and try not to. By the second day I end up napping out of exhaustion.
All my years I am tired.

If you’re tired already you can nap now. You can also sleep all night.

If sleepy means I’ll get enough sleep this year I kinda want that? 🤷♀️

Not really. People with jobs or little kids can’t nap during the day and sleeping all night isn’t an option for everyone

It says your Mazal will be sleeping. Maybe that means you are less aware of that voice that comes from your neshama? It could just mean your luck...
If you fall asleep over a tehilim it's better.

I think it’s better not to sleep.
But I was told better to sleep then be short tempered because of lack of sleep.

I'm pretty sure I heard from a shiur by Rabbi Menachem Nissel, who credited his Rebbi (Rav Wolbe? Rav Moshe Shapiro? I'm not sure) as saying that if not sleeping will cause one to get angry (at kids, spouse), then it's much better to sleep than to get angry.

I learned that whatever the reason/recommendation to not sleep, it really only applies to the first day...

My husband learned that this only applies to men.

I learnt that the reason is because the first day of Rosh Hashanah is the main time of judgement for the entire year and it shouldn't be spent sleeping. Some people wake up at dawn the first day for this reason.
Having said that I almost never can stay awake the whole first day and just nap from exhaustion.

So if we say tehillim on Rosh Hashana, does it mean we will have to say tehillim a whole year? Just thinking about this because of the year we've had....

Thanks everyone. So if I'm really desperate I'll realy on the fact that I'm not a man, or it's the second day, or after chazos...so not feel so guilty...

Good idea and I wish.... Dh works till about an hr before yt so it's on me to prepare and get everything ready....and my kids are all little so I can't really leave them and go nap.... One day . maybe I'll get lucky though and get a full night sleep... It depends on the night.

A sleepy year doesn’t sound bad after the past whirlwind of a year. Think I’ll make sure to get a nap!
