Can you tell us more about your cakes, approach, business, passion?
What cakes do you specialize in? (fondant? cream? cookies AND fondant? pearlized? air brush?)
what occasions do you find yourself doing most? (birthday, upsherin, bar mitzva, vort, etc)
what types of designs make you excited? Do you invent or customize designs, or copy what clients give you, or sketch stuff, etc? What is your process?
What makes you unique? Is it the really good cake recipes you use for the filling? the appearance of the finished product? do you do more cakes or cupcakes or cookies?
IN SHORT - WHAT MAKES YOU SPECIAL? HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CAKE MAKING BUSINESSES?
Once you can define that, we can try to create a name that encapsulates that difference and will tell your client base why you're unique, memorable and preferable!!!
Don't worry if you can't think of anything. You can always do a cute name that covers all the bases. But I think a name that highlights why you're different and special is best.

Your name plus Cakeaway. E.g. Chevy’s Cakeaway.
Or your name plus a relevant noun beginning with the same letter. E.g.
Ruchi’s Rugelach
Mimi’s Muffins
Kaila’s Kitchen

Lol im in middle of studying this in marketing class...do you want the customers to have that homemade feel? Or healthy? Or hipster ish?
millennial style?
Homemade-you can do something like" cakes by __" or ___s baked goods
If modern type -"pastry+love " or " bake and batter" or "layers"

As others have said, figure out what you want your customers to feel about you. Sophisticated? Homey? Reliable? Funky?
Name possibilities - Icing, Baked by (your name), Boulangerie (your name), Sprinkles, or Birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs and Beyond.
It's also important to proofread everything that goes out with your name on it. (See thread heading.)

The advice these days before you find a name you love for a new business is to see if its an available domain (website address), because all the goods ones have been taken.
You can pm me for more info

A friend of mine had a baking business and was advised that her own name (first or last) should be somewhere in the name. She was told that in the end, with these types of things, people remember and refer to the actual person doing the baking, rather than a fancy company name.
She didn't listen since she wanted something that sounded more elegant. Nowadays, everyone just refers to her company and her cakes by her last name anyway....

I live in Montreal in a French area and today we drove past a Bakery (not kosher) my kids pointed out the name "Mamie's Last Name" (forgot the name)
My kids all thought it's so cute a French person referring themselves as Mamie!
