Don't. Bathe the child and the monster separately, using the correct type of cleaning products for each.

What if I need to go out, though? Monsters have very reasonably babysitting rates. What's the worst that could happen?

Stop stereotyping. Some monsters eat cookies.

Unfortunately the monster is invisible, so it's quite hard to bath it. Advice would be appreciated on how to manage the monster.
I always know when the monster has visited because somehow all the shampoos are now empty and the bath is full of bubbles. Somehow the towel is now in the bath when it wasn't previously. Other items have also made their way into the bath and there is a puddle of soapy water on the floor.

Um hello I hired that monster to babysit my kid while in the bath. Get with it.

That's what I was about to say: let the monster take care of it itself, it's big enough...

What if your child is a monster?
Then do you bathe your child or leave him dirty?

MY CHILD IS NOT A MONSTER!!!!
My child is the most kind, intelligent, helpful, obedient, creative, well-behaved creature on earth...
Your child, however...

Listen, I don't appreciate the monster stereotyping. There are plenty of kind, intelligent, helpful, obedient, creative and well behaved monsters out there. Go broaden your horizons!

You have to get through chained up brick walls to find them.
By then, however, you're at the end of the book, so I'm not sure if that helps.

Leaving them both in the bathtub is fine, but be careful when the monster gets out and shakes himself out, that could be dangerous. There have been several incidents involving furry monsters creating havoc post bath time.

My biggest issue is that the monster takes up the whole screen on the monitor.
