Dd wanted to be Mini mouse but costumes were expensive or poorly made so every year we looked within budget then I convinced her to ne something else. but this year she's very upset she still has in her head she wants to be mini mouse and my younger dd wants the same and matching. I think I have no choice and in her words "it has to look very nice and normal" she is a size 8-10. Most Amazon costumes only come in toddler and adult sizes and look like junk any idea? I'm not very crafty

My dd was a mini mouse last year when she was 8. I found a cute costume in her size on Amazon

You can buy a cheap white skirt and glue/sew on felt red circles. or a red skirt and do the whit circles. It shouldn't be too challenging, but it will take some time. Good luck! I hope that you can find something that'll make her happy!

You can make any length - and they're ridiculously easy.
Get a piece of elastic for the waist.
Staple it to make a circle. Tie the tulle on. Doesn't require a sewing

Just in case you need a back up.

My dd is like a 8-10. I would assume it a Chinese size so I need to size up which of course they don't have. Did you find that?

My dd is short and the top part stretched so the biggest size fit her( 7-8)

Could it be not specifically a costume, just a skirt (or dress)? I see lots of women's red & white polka dot skirts, some girls', and even some girls' short sleeve or sleeveless dresses on Amazon. Also, if a skirt or dress is too short, they could just wear another skirt underneath.

I don't know where you live, OP, but at least 65% of the girl costumes I saw last year involved tutus, from toddlers through upper teens. If you can't find a longer tutu, she can wear a black skirt under the tutu and it will still look very cute. If she specifically said "normal", this might fit the bill. Why don't you show her and ask?
