DD wants to dress up as an Indian (from India, not Native American) for Purim -- in the Mahodu Viad Kush genre. I have been looking online for a Sari for her but they are very expensive. She is a teen and is adult sized. I am not much of a seamstress and am looking for ideas -- HELP!

the thrift stores in Chicago always have these outfits. Thrift stores that buy lots from Amvets and Cancer Federation, etc pick ups.
We've used the shiny beaded tops and skirts for dress up for years.
Do you have an Indian neighborhood by you? There are usually lots of clost-together, competitive clothing stores there

There is an area dh refers to as "Little Pakistan" down Coney Island Avenue past Ave I, but I think they tend toward the Muslim dress there, rather than Indian, anyone know if that's true?
