I have made this recipe in the past and used red wine vineger and it makes a difference in taste compared to plain vineger or lemon juice.
Also using frozen bodek in my opinion is totally gross. I used fresh broccli but I don't like checking it so I very rarely every make it. OK I am guilty, I make my husband check the broccli when I have made it.

Purplepen gave my exact recipe. I also add a bit of salt & pepper & I put craisins & cashews ( raw, unsalted) in it.

I love fresh broccoli but from what I understand it's non-cleanable. At least that's what I think Rav Vay said (the expert on bugs in vegetables and fruits). What's the deal? How do you folks clean broccoli?

You soak it in water and vinegar all day and then check it.
