I'm looking for a challah recipe that uses 4-6 cups of flour, and packets of yeast. I prefer egg challah but it's not essential. Thank you.

I usually make this in a bread machine, but you can easily do it without. Proof the yeast, water and sugar then add the ingredients other than the flour. Slowly add the flour. You may need a bit more or a bit less flour to get it to the right texture. I let it rise for a half an hour then form, then rise for another half an hour before putting in the oven
4 c. flour
¼ c. oil
¼ c. sugar-5 T.
1 ½ c. water (less)
1 ½ t. salt
1 T. yeast (1 packet)

If 7 cups of flour is ok:
2 pkts yeast
Tsp sugar
2 cups warm water
Let bubble
Add
One egg beaten
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp salt
Mix
Add 6-7 cups flour.
Knead until dough springs back when poked.
Let rise until double in size.
Braid.
Let rise again
Bake on 350 for 40 min

I use a challah recipe that was an imamother classic - I think it's called Breslov's no fail challah? Or just search "no fail challah"? I halve it often and it works fine that way.
