Wow you were so close...where do you live? I think the kidnapping took place near Alon Shvut.

I live in Efrat. The boys were kidnapped from a bus stop outside Alon Shvut, near Kfar Etzion.
Shabbat is correct about the trauma.
I have one DC - practically the same age as the boys were that summer, who was particularly traumatized and affected unfortunately.

Wow. That's so hard Crying
When this happened I was younger than the boys, and took it very much to heart. I still remember when I turned 16, and then 19, and realizing I was almost "leaving them behind," so to speak. I was older than they would ever be.

Crying as I remember.

Also reminds me of the kidnapping and murder of Nachshon Wachsman.

Everyone davening and hoping for a happy ending and then.....

I was so sad for them. I prayed often- at that time I was catering and took challah regularly so I did it as often as I could.

The night they found the boys my daughter was in an explosion in our kitchen ( never put an aerosol can down on a hot burner) and I was in the emergency room when I saw the news. I had to keep it together because I just needed to ( her nose hair was singed and they were worried that she would need to go on a ventilator-it was very scary) and at the same time I was so grateful that for us it wasn’t worse. I’ll never forget the juxtaposition of my gratitude and my sorrow for the boys and their loved ones.

May their memories continue to be blessings and may their families and all of Israel know peace.

Thank you for this thread.

I was thinking the same thing. And what crookshanks responded - how his father said sometimes the answer is no.

I was in seminary in E"Y at the time, and I will never forget that Shabbos.

May all of these boys storm the heavens for us now.....we need Mashiach so badly.
