I add a handful into my hot chicken soup 10 minutes before shabbos. It cooks in the soup.

They're fine for kugel, but because they're thinner, the kugel may be smaller. And you'd cook them for a shorter period because being smaller they cook faster.

I use them for sweet lukshen kugels and yerushalmi kugel.

Line the bottom of pot with oil and fry an even layer of noodles, then add your water to boil and cook rice as usual
